Dev Containers for Developers

One of the biggest challenges when onboarding new team members is to ensure they have the right environment to work in. Generally, this involves complex installation steps, multiple requests to IT departments for admin rights, and this doesn't even handle that some developers prefer working on non-Windows machines.

How to share coding environments (settings, extensions, etc.) between developers without local installs or VM templates, while
getting the ability to test the software as well?

In this session I'd like to explain what devcontainers are, how they work, how developers can get started and how to use them to locally (or in the cloud) test entire applications without deploying.
